ABC Widgets shows numbers your iPhone already tracks, plus public data like prices, scores and weather, on Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. It is built so your personal data stays on your phone.
The short version
- We don't collect your data. There's no account, no server of ours, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
- Health, calendar, motion and ride data are read on your iPhone and stay there. For weather, only your rounded location is sent (to about 1 km).
- To show prices, scores and weather, the app asks public data services for them. Those requests contain only what's being looked up, like "BTC" or a team code, never who you are.
- Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card or Apple ID.
Health data
With your permission, ABC Widgets reads these from Apple Health: steps, walking and running distance, flights climbed, active energy, exercise minutes, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, blood oxygen, VO₂ max, body weight, cycling distance, walking speed, step length, walking steadiness, headphone audio levels, environmental sound levels, sleep, and time in daylight.
This data is read on your device, shown on your widgets, and kept in the app's private storage on your iPhone so widgets can draw while offline. It is never sent off your device. It is never used for advertising, marketing or profiling, and never shared with or sold to anyone. ABC Widgets does not write anything to Apple Health.
Blip, the pet: your daily steps, steps by hour, floors and last night's sleep (from Apple Health), plus the weather and town the app already shows, are kept as a short day-by-day record on your iPhone so Blip can eat, grow and earn things to wear. That record, Blip's closet and everything about your pet stay on your iPhone and are never uploaded. Blip's reminders are local notifications made on your phone. The share card leaves your step numbers off unless you turn them on.
Lumi, the screen-time pet (when you turn it on): with your permission, Apple's Screen Time tells the app each time the apps and sites you picked add up to another 10 minutes today. Apple never tells the app which apps or sites, or anything you did in them; the app only keeps today's minutes, a total per day for the last 60 days, and your limit and bedtime, on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded. Its heads-ups are local notifications, and the optional pause uses Screen Time's own shield on your phone.
You can turn access off at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → ABC Widgets.
Location
If you allow it, ABC Widgets uses your location to show local weather, air quality, sunrise and sunset, and your elevation. For the forecast, your coordinates are rounded to about 1 km and sent to Apple Weather (and to Open-Meteo for air quality, or as a backup forecast). When your iPhone's GPS doesn't give an elevation, coordinates rounded to about 100 m are sent to Open-Meteo's elevation service. Location readings are saved only on your iPhone.
Dirt bike rides (optional). If you use the ride recorder (Settings → Tools → Dirt bike rides), ABC Widgets uses your location in the background while a ride is recording, to measure speed, distance and your route. With "Start and end by motion" on, a low-accuracy location session stays active for up to 2 hours after you open the app, so a ride can start by itself; iPhone shows the blue location indicator the whole time. Rides and routes are saved only on your iPhone and are never uploaded. Apart from the ride recorder, ABC Widgets does not use your location in the background.
If you turn on the hard-fall alert and tap "Text my buddy my location", the app opens Messages with your location filled in. Nothing is sent until you send it yourself.
Surf (optional). The Surf widget shows waves, tides and water temperature for a beach. If you pick a beach, its coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo's marine and weather services. If you don't, and you're near the coast, your coordinates rounded to about 1 km are used instead. Your beach is saved only on your iPhone.
Drive home (optional). If you set a Home spot (Settings → Home), it's saved only on your iPhone. To show how long the drive home takes, the app asks Apple Maps for directions from where you are to your Home spot, about every 15 minutes while that widget is in use. Searching for your address also uses Apple Maps. Apple's own privacy policy covers those requests; nothing goes to us.
Motion & Fitness and sensors
With your permission, ABC Widgets uses Motion & Fitness to count steps (so step widgets keep counting while your phone is locked) and reads the air pressure from your iPhone's barometer for the Barometer widget. If you use the ride recorder, it also reads the motion sensors to notice a ride starting or ending. These readings stay on your device.
Calendar
If you allow it, ABC Widgets reads your calendar to show the titles and times of your next events today (up to four, on Day Planner). Nothing from your calendar leaves your device.
Public data services
To show live data, your iPhone contacts these services directly:
| Service | Used for | What's sent |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Weather | Weather, rain, UV, sunrise/sunset | Coordinates rounded to about 1 km |
| Open-Meteo | Air quality, elevation, waves and tides (Surf), backup forecast | Rounded coordinates, or your beach's |
| Apple Maps | Drive time home (Day Planner), address search | Where you are and your Home spot, only when you set one |
| Coinbase | Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and the other coin prices (Ticker Wall, Crypto board) | Coin pair (like BTC-USD) |
| CoinGecko | The top-moving meme coin (Bitcoin & Movers) | Nothing beyond the request |
| gold-api.com | Gold, silver and other metals | Metal symbol |
| Yahoo Finance | Indexes, oil, dollar, yields, your stocks, the Stocks board, the day's top gainer | Ticker symbol |
| alternative.me | Fear & Greed index | Nothing beyond the request |
| ESPN | Live scores, game lines, football drives, PGA leaderboard | League, team code or game number |
| Kalshi | Win chances on Game Day | League |
| Polymarket | Predictions and News widgets | Nothing beyond the request |
| Wikipedia | News widget (stories from Wikipedia's Current events) | The day's page name |
Like any website, these services can see the IP address a request comes from. We don't control their logs; their own privacy policies apply. Market and sports data may be delayed and is for information only. It is not investment advice. Prediction-market prices and sportsbook lines are shown as information only; ABC Widgets has no betting and takes no wagers.
Games
Blackjack, Slots, Dice and Roulette are just for fun. They use pretend play chips that are kept on your iPhone. There's no real money, nothing to buy, no prizes, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Purchases
ABC Widgets Pro is an optional subscription sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. The app receives only whether your subscription is active. We never receive your name, Apple ID, or payment details. Manage or cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Settings, votes and preferences
Your team, tickers, the stocks you watch and the shares you own, your countdown, your work shifts and hourly pay, your cleaning, move and food lists, your house-cleaning jobs and when you checked them off, the reminders you turn on and the lines you write for your own reminder list (sent as notifications planned on the phone, never from a server), the birthdays you add (and, if you allow Calendar access, the birthdays iPhone keeps from your contacts, read on the phone only), widget styles, the notes you type in the Notes widget and any votes for upcoming widgets are stored on your iPhone only. Notes, shares, shifts and pay are never uploaded. To show stock prices, the app asks a public price service for the stock symbols you watch (never how many shares you own). (If you add a note with Siri, Apple's Siri handles what you say, as it does for any app.) Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Children
ABC Widgets is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Because we don't collect or store personal data on any server, there is no data of yours for us to access, correct, export or delete. Everything lives on your device and goes away when you delete the app. If you have a question, contact us below.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a future version of the app ever needs to collect data, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
